Meeting with Reason Digital (UX)

Today the squad had a meeting with Jonny Evans at Reason Digital to discuss the progress of the UX project for their cilent Virgin Pioneers. The squad discuss the eye tracking feedback collected from the users.

Jonny gave some great advice about how to go about creating improvements for the website (Wireframes), which is the final task of the project.

Once the wireframes are done, then as an individual I need to put all the data together into a recorded 10-14 mins presentation of the whole process, that went on during the project. This includes Cognitive Walkthrough, Heuristics, Guerrilla Testing, Eye Tracking and Improvements. (Wireframes)

User Experience Design

The students were introduced to the process of usability testing with users in the lecture today. Also the students received their results for their first term assignment. I received higher 2:1 for my report.

The squads have been allocated mentors for their second piece of coursework. My squad have been assigned to Reason Digital who are digital agency in Manchester. The mentor will give us as a group advice and guidance, through out the project this term.

User Experience Design

The students are continuing with their individual elements of the project. They should be working on the design stage of their apps or website using Photoshop. After designing the app in Photoshop they need to put the app live on to invision which makes their app or website designs come to life.

User Experience Design

The squads were discussing their progress of the project. They should have done paper wireframes and paper testing last week. This week they were concentrating on the Axure wireframe version of their apps or websites,   getting their individual Axure wireframe designs tested within the members of their squads and peers outside their squads, to get feedback on their designs.

The students were introduced to another guest today named Marie Kitney, who is part of UX Design team at Numiko, an agency based in Leeds. She was going around to each squad to see their working progress of their apps and websites. Marie gave the squads some feedback, tips and advice on their projects.

Next week the squads will be concentrating on design stage of their wireframes by using Photoshop and Invision.

Agency Ready

In agency ready session,  the students just got on with their portfolio sites which is due next Wednesday, During the session students had discussion with peers and tutors about their progress and if they are facing any problems with the development of the portfolio site. Tutors were reading through students written blogs and giving feedback on the blogs for any improvements before submission.  The tutor explained what will be happen over the next couple of weeks once the students have submit their portfolio site. For second term of the unit the students have to come up with twp initiated projects, they will have the space to on learn what ever skills they would like to learn to help toward their career aspirations.

Personal Tutor Meeting: 2

Just had a meeting with my personal tutor on the progress of the project. Overall in the meeting we discussed how things are going within the project, the good and bad things. It is great having a meeting with my personal tutor and supervisor as they give consistents advice, guidance and support to the students.

Post-Project
